Application Reminders & Tips: Applying through Early Decision is a binding commitment It is recommended to apply to 8 - 12 schools, based on selectivity: Reach Line = 35% (if a school accepts less than 35% of applicants, categorize it as a reach) Colleges that don’t accept Common App: Rutgers, Georgetown, MIT, UC Transcript / School Document Requests must be submitted at least 10 school days before the application is due Rutgers & UC schools don't require transcripts or recs (just add these to Naviance) Apply well before the college’s deadline (2 weeks suggested) Aim to finish your Common App Personal Statement by October 1st Connect with colleges to demonstrate interest - visits, interviews, reps at Biotech, etc. Clean up your digital footprint / social media profiles Sending Test Scores: The only way to send official SAT/ACT scores is directly through the College Board or ACT websites; students must send their scores to every college to which they apply How to
